Inclusion at lower secondary level in Germany
Joint project of the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) Bamberg, the Institute for Quality Development (IQB) Berlin, the University of Potsdam (UP) and the University of Wuppertal (BUW)
Our project focusses on the question of which forms of inclusive education exist at lower secondary level and what effects these different framework conditions and processes have on the development of pupils with special educational needs. In sub-study I, head teachers from all secondary schools (excluding grammar schools) are interviewed. In sub-study II, specific clusters of inclusion realisations are monitored longitudinally at a targeted selection of schools from sub-study I. In sub-study III, in turn, a sub-selection of sub-study II will be monitored in depth by using lesson diaries. In addition to numerous scientific results, a data basis is to be created that is available to the scientific community for further research purposes and could also be used for monitoring the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Initial publications on the project can be found here and here.
