Participation projects in which we supervise your final theses (as of January 2026)
We are currently looking for students who would like to write their Bachelor's and Master's theses in the following projects. Your tasks in the project are described in each case. You can then use the collected data to work on the empirical questions of your Bachelor's or Master's thesis. In principle, we will provide you with very intensive support if you work on a project. Please send an e-mail to the specified project manager in good time to make an informal enquiry about collaboration.
- Birgit Ehl and Gunnar Bruns supervise theses on individual case evaluation. Their task is to recruit a child/young person with problems in the areas of maths or German (reading, writing, language). You will plan a 3-month intervention, carry it out and evaluate it with the help of learning progression diagnostics. Detailed information can be found in the following Moodle course (link to the Moodle course: https://moodle.uni-wuppertal.de/course/view.php?id=42796)
- Gunnar Bruns offers four to five theses as part of an international project on the assessment of executive functions in children with intellectual disabilities and learning impairments starting in the winter semester 2025/26. Your task is to recruit at least 5 children/adolescents (from 6 years of age, with an IQ of 55-70), e.g. from inclusive regular schools or special schools, and to conduct tests (approx. 2 hours per child) and administer parent questionnaires. The survey is expected to start around December 2025 and is possible until December 2026. If you are interested, please read the following information: osf.io/q7p8w. You will then receive detailed information by email on request.
- Birgit Ehl supervises theses by Turkish-German-speaking students on the language diagnostics of Turkish-German-speaking children in Turkish. Her task is to recruit the children and parents. You carry out the language diagnostics in Turkish with the children and parents and analyse the test responses. You will receive detailed information in a personal consultation.
- Lisa Zimmer supervises final theses on the concept of the "Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning" (CASEL). Her task is to prepare a systematic, theory-based literature review. This involves systematically analysing, summarising and interpreting suitable studies in relevant specialist databases. To do this, you will create inclusion and exclusion criteria in advance and visualise your approach using a flow diagram (according to PRISMA). You will receive detailed information in a personal consultation.
